Developer for HireStarting from Australia, I spent the first 25 years of my working life travelling the world and programming main computers, see my Resume for the details. This background as a deeply technical systems programmer, independent software developer and successful support analyst in many different countries gives me the experience to handle the technical, management and cultural challenges that are the norm in todays Internet environment.
Soon after 1984 I discovered the Apple Macintosh and the joys of development on Personal computers. In 1995, the internet caught my interest and I've been working in that area ever since. These days I spend a lot of time developing custom user maintained web sites using Frontier and Manila from Userland Software because it is one of the few flexible, yet cost effective CMS tools available.
Manila based sites I have contributed to include
I also have an interest in backend databases for websites.
I like to build tools, the ManilaFixer Plug-in and the Cornershop Plugin are 2 recent Frontier examples. I have also helped in the development of the Metadata Plugin.
I am also a skilled javascript programmer, see for example EmailJStest.
Much of my Internet work, can be inspected through the menus on the left and in my legacy static site.
