Attached Documents

Manila is built on top of an older web application called mainresponder, which was primarily oriented to managing discussion groups. It supported the idea of attached documents, one or more non text files attached to a message. Manila inherited that capability but a Manila website is not configured to use it and the feature is therefore inaccessible to users.

manilaFixer restores this capability provided that the site has been configured for static rendering to the extent that a folder for static files (and images) is known to exist. Manilafixer then configures the website to store attached documents in a subfolder of the static folder, called attachedDocuments. The feature must be enabled on the preferences page.

Attached Documents Configuration:

Only members can upload attached documents, and only for messages they have created.

A macro, manilaextras.attachedDocuments is provided to allow listing attached documents of a story in a message, a template or sub-template.
