Controlpanel Interface

Starting with version 1.9 of manilaFixer, the server administrator, that is anyone who has access to the Frontier web based controlpanel can selectively enable and disable features of manilafixer by website.

This change was made because some features of manilaFixer might be either too complex for naive managing editors or so useful as to be chargeable items in some environments. For example, the turbo cache can optimise some websites response times at the cost of RAM, so in a hosting environment the associated cost could be charged back to the website owner.

The interface is automatically installed when you run manilafixer.install. If it is not used, all plugin features are visible to all websites who enable manilafixer. The controlpanel allows

  • disabling "new" features by default
  • setting a standard "minimal" set of features that are active when a websites enables manilafixer for the first time
  • inspecting which sites have manilafixer and what version they enabled.
  • activating and deactivating features in each website separately
  • updating manilafixer for a website without Managing editor intervention.
