Installation

Sendmail is shipped as one of the components in my public domain root - bayly.root . You should follow the instructions here to download and install the root and to ensure that you can use the rootupdate mechanism to receive updates.

You must also have the following thirdparty extensions and suites installed

  • Alan Germans' powerful tcpcmd Extension.
  • Andre Radkes' Crypto DLL (for CRAM-MD5 authentication)
  • The regex DLL from Userland (ships with Frontier in the extras folder)
  • Optionally, the binaryToAscii UCMD, which is macintosh only. (for sending base64 attachments). I cannot find a current download location for this, it was created by Arnold Lesikar who sadly, seems to have retired from the Frontier arena.

Default values for mail sender and the name of the mail server are those in user.prefs, so

  • Make sure your e-mail address is correct in user.prefs.mailaddress.
  • Enter your SMTP server into user.prefs.mailhost.

Now, on your server, run the script at sendmail.init.
